Cane Sizing Chart
The correct cane length is the key to safe use and better mobility.
1. Obtain measurements while wearing regular walking shoes.
2. Standing upright, allow arms to relax (with normal bend at the elbow) at your sides.
3. Have a second person measure the distance from your wrist joint down to the floor. This number is the right length of cane for you.
OR ... an estimate of the proper cane length can also be made by dividing an individual’s height by two. For most persons, the right sized cane is within an inch of half their height. This guideline can be applied if the user is not available for an actual measurement. Error on the side of ordering a longer vs. shorter length since a wooden cane/stick can always be shortened, but never lengthened. If you are unsure of the length you need, the easiest thing to do is order the standard size and have it cut at a local hardware store.
Ladies potpourri print on a 35 inches maple wood shaft with coordinated green solid wood Fritz handle and brass band.
The handle on these canes are designed to support the user's weight and the handle is what takes the brunt of the force.
This allows the user's weight to be supported by the handle without excessive exertion.
The grip has a wonderful comfortable feeling for fingers and there is plenty of room for most size hands.
Sometimes Fritz handles are known as Crutch Handles too and are often used by those who have some muscular or gait issues in their lower extremities.
35 inches is the standard length.
We can also customize the length to suit your height by choosing one of our available sizes from 28 to 35 inches.
Choose your desired length when placing your order.
Please note: a cane cut from the standard length cannot be returned. If you are unsure of the exact length needed, order the standard length and have it cut at a local hardware store.
